Recent Developments

Settlement checks for physicians and groups who previously submitted valid claims for the Highmark settlements in the Love and Grider cases began to be mailed out on October 31, 2008. Please be aware that there are several different settlements involving physicians and Blue Cross Blue Shield companies. If you filed valid claim forms for multiple settlements you will receive a separate check for each settlement, and the various checks may be for different amounts. The checks for the settlement that involves the majority of Blue Cross Blue Shield companies (but not Highmark) have not yet been mailed. Grider

Settlement Notice Packets were mailed on March 28, 2008. The Court has scheduled a hearing to consider the fairness, reasonableness, and adequacy of the proposed Grider Settlement (“Settlement Hearing”). The Settlement Hearing will be held on Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Edward N. Cahn United States Courthouse, 504 Hamilton Street, Courtroom B, Allentown Pennsylvania 18101. Love-Highmark

Please be advised that a motion has been granted to move the Fairness Hearing date from February 11, 2008 at 9:30 am, to February 12, 2008 at 9:30 am. THIS DOES NOT AFFECT ANY OF THE OTHER DATES IN THE NOTICE (i.e., claim filing deadline, opt out deadline and objection deadline).

Due to a typographical error, the AAPP Foundation and the American Psychoanalytic Foundation were inadvertently excluded from the list of charitable organizations list on page 4 of the Claim Form Instructions. If you would like to donate your proceeds from the settlement fund to either of these foundations, please indicate the number for the foundation of your choice on your claim form and the settlement administrator will honor your request.
